U.S.G.S. topographical maps
There was an assumption that every map would only be made once or twice in a century, so we went to extraordinary expense to make them not only correct but beautiful.
We keep a box full of old maps that were inserted into National Geographic magazines, like a map of Africa under colonial rule, or the Pacific theater of World War II. One of these days I’ll share them here.
